All about the RuneScape...

Background info:
RuneScape takes place in what could be seen as a rapidly changing, new-age medeival(sp?) setting.

Years ago, your adventure would start on a land named Tutorial Island (for purposes, obviously, to teach you the fundamentals) before being teleported into the mainlands. Now days, you begin in the mainland, apart from all other players, and have to complete a relatively simple quest that still teaches the basics, but its not as fun in my opinion. Less freedom.

Unlike most other mmorpg's, you're not required to select a particular race/class to have access to specific features/areas/advantages etc- Every player is free to opportunities as much as the next player.

The only great divide in terms of content is the Members and Non-Members worlds. Non-member worlds are a must for beginners. They are completely free, allow newbies to get a strong feel of the game without any bindings, and a lot of the content of the non-member's game act as fundamentals for member's content further along in the game. In other words, it's definately worth trying before buying.

The Members worlds can be accessed by purchasing membership for the game (est. $7.50 / month). The easiest way to purchase membership is just by buying a 30 or 90 day membership card from a local Rite Aid, GameStop or Target. There are several other payment methods to be looked into, so if it comes to it, buying cards isn't the only option. I won't spoil any of the member's content, but I will say atleast 90% of the entire game's best worth, come from the member's world. Becoming a member is worth it!

`nice ryan, i got 99 woodcutting on ivy's, my other 99's are attack, strength, defense, and constitution(I know most of the nooby ones lol), but I am currently 96 crafting, so very soon I will have a nice prestigious 99 lol. Oh and I also have all the quests completed ha. Yeah I have been playing for like 5 years and surprisingly I am still not bored of it. `I played runescape years ago and just recently decided that since my new laptop can't handle my normal MMOs i would give it a shot again, currently combat level 6 YAY ME! It has changed a lot since the days when i would spend every waking minute playing it and paying an arm and a leg to play it. Feel free to look me up also Kagekaton (go figure)
